Our School

A quiet institution with a serious pedigree.

Lakshmi School is an institution of the Lakshmi Vidya Sangham, a trust run by members of the TVS family. Since 2000 we have grown, patiently and deliberately, into one of Madurai's most respected schools — without ever losing the warmth of a family.

Our Story

Education, held to a family's standard.

The Lakshmi Vidya Sangham (LVS) is a trust run by members of the TVS family, operating several institutions with a single, unwavering purpose — to provide quality education.

Lakshmi School is one of them. It is affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi, and is a recognised examination centre for both ICSE and ISC. Guiding the school's growth every step of the way has been its President, Ms. Shobhana Ramachandhran, whose vision continues to shape the institution.

A Lakshmi day runs from 8:20 AM to 3:40 PM — long enough for a child to be a scholar, an athlete, an actor and a friend, all before the last bell. Every child is given the stage, quite literally: annual day and variety shows ensure each student performs before an audience at least once a year. For our seniors in Classes IX to XII, an Interact Club channels that confidence outward, into inter-school competitions and community welfare projects across Madurai.

From 159 students in the very first year to more than 2,500 today, the school has grown without ever feeling large — because the standard the family set at the start has never moved.

More Than a Timetable

A stage for every child.

We believe confidence is taught, not inherited. That is why every student, in every year, steps into the spotlight — through the annual day, variety shows and the everyday theatre of classroom life. By the time they reach the senior school, our Interact Club members are leading community projects and representing Lakshmi at inter-school competitions with the ease of children who have never been strangers to an audience.
